first day @ argentina and i'm already exhausted!! landed early in the morning and came straight to my first location: El Sol Hostel! OMG... i've never been on a hostel so it was reality check when i had to fucking bring up my 3 heavy suitcases two the second floor of an old apartment!!! not good.
besides that, just the usual a miniature bathroom where the shower and the toilet are next to each other... easy access when in need... lol ...
so i decided to go and take a look at the city! the truth more like just a few blocks since i spent 6hours just walking on one of the principa street Ave. Santa Fe. seriously this is like NYC meets Old San Juan.. a really nice mix of modern and old style architecture with an european flair.
everybody walks and pretty fast, and like NYC if you dont cross the street fast enough the taxi will step on you...
my first stop was for breakfast. i had delicious orange juice with an assortment of breads. funny joke:
the girl tells me here's the "factura" immediately i'm thinking she's giving me the bill already. turns out factura is a pastry like a croissant, pretty good. so i ask her where's the factura.. and she's like you are eating it... i look at her with crazy eyes... lol ... Ohhhh, this is a factura! i told her this is a croissant... lol
she got upset. i eat the factura/croissant and left.
sooo, it turns out that each block her is approx. 100 metros! which is pretty long is you consider to get from one place to another is around 5 blocks = 500 metros!!! which inmediately made me hungry. time for merienda "lunch" yummy yummy. i ate at a really nice cafeteria and the food was cheap! i had a HUGE chicken empanada for less than a $1US that's good! and beer for like $1.25US... i'm already liking this place!!! lol
so i got lost and so-on and ended up at restaurant where he wanted to charge me $30 pesos = $7-8US and i said NOOO, i just pay $1.25 for beer and $1 for empanadas = $10 pesos .... the server looked at me kind of weird. i'm still trying to get used to the money conversion.
besides that i discover argentines eat too much sugar and sweets!!
